Everything Hurts

Healing Herbals

Amanda VinciComment

I couldn't make it through the day without tea. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I rely on it to keep me energized and give me that extra boost — especially in the mornings. Generally I drink black tea, but I've recently learned about the healing effects different herbal teas have.

When I was young and suffering from horrible menstrual cramps, my mom would always make me a hot cup of chamomile tea. It would always help ease some of the pain, but I never gave much thought to what about it was actual helpful. Sure, a hot drink is always comforting, but do herbal teas really have the ability to heal?

I've had the pleasure of trying two unique blends of loose leaf tea, created by AmberFreda. All of their tea is completely natural, handmade, and fresher than anything you'll be able to find in your grocery store. There's really no comparison between these herbal creations and the stuff you get in a box that's who-knows how old. These teas come in super cute little tins that seal in the powerful aroma produced by each combination of herbs. That soothing scent carries over right into your tea, soothing you even before your first sip.

AmberFreda's Tension Tamer Tea is a delicious mix of chamomile, rose, holy basil, skullcap, and lemon balm. I've looked around, and I really haven't seen anything like this out there. It's so fragrant but not too overpowering — it has just the right blend of flavors. This tea is perfect for any moments of high anxiety or stress. I like to use it when I first get home from a long day at work, when I'm feeling really riled up. It helps me to transition into my time at home, letting go of concerns and worries and easing my mind. I also find it helpful to have a cup when my mind starts to race with thoughts of my pain/conditions. This tea helps to create a nice ritual of allowing yourself to let go of built up tension.

I'm finally happy to report that my chronic headaches have gone away! I still get one here and there, but they are occurring nowhere near as frequently as they were a few months ago. I like to think it's thanks to a combination of previous essential oils I had written about, as well as this awesome Headache Tea that AmberFreda sent over! Containing yet another blend of unique herbs, this tea really helps break up the sharp pains and nausea that often comes with a strong headache. It's made up of chamomile, feverfew, lavender, skullcap, cinnamon and ginger — which, by the way, creates such a great flavor that you'll want to have it even when you're not suffering from a headache.

If you're a tea enthusiast like me, or even a tea newbie, you'll have to peep at their Etsy Shop and see all the one-of-a-kind teas they have available. Their teas a great for a whole range of different chronic conditions, from depression to stomach pain to increasing your energy. Also check out their essential oils and lineaments - even a yoga mat cleaner! All natural, all handmade and all at a great price!

Happy sipping ☕️
